Basel '08: De Grisogono Otturatore

What is exciting about Baselworld is that each year, a number of watch brands come up with stunning timepieces that challenge the conventions of watchmaking and the way we tell time. This year, De Grisogono is one such brand.

We have already shown you the De Grisogono Meccanico. Its Otturatore is as simple as it is complicated.

While many watches today display a wealth of information on the watch dial, Fawaz Gruosi has conceived an innovative way to display all these information while still eliminating dial clutter – a mobile bi-directional dial that rotates 90° sequentially to display at any one time, seconds, date, moon phases and power reserve by a simple depression of the pushpiece. The result is a much cleaner dial for improved legibility.
